The Yearbook of Statistics Singapore, 2010 reveals some interesting facts about where the growth in tourist numbers are coming from. The mature travellers! (Surprise, surprise!)
Of the total 9.6 million visitors in 2009, 36.5% were over 45 years old.
Although just 18.6% of total arrivals, the 55+ segment saw the largest jump in the 4 year period from 2005 at 25.4%.
The next big question, as vital as tourism is to the Singapore economy, just how age-friendly is it?
Take a look at their new website here, and weep!
